SHS Students Win Ribbons at State FFA FHA Meets
Sidney High School Voc Ag and home ec students attended the Nebraska State FFA and FHA conventions in Lincoln on April 3 and 4 led by Vo Ag instructor L. B. Neuman and teachers Leon Karnik and Theodore Brauer. Members Ruth Anderson Francis Odell Bob Nightingale Bob Call Paul Brauer James Krueger Ron McMillen Wendell Johnson George Fotinos Roland Brauer Gerald Haupt and Ronald Karnik competed in six divisions. Gerald Haupt won a blue in poultry judging. Fotinos, Johnson, Brauer placed 1st, 2nd and Fotinos earned a white in dairy cattle judging. Nightingale and Call took 2nd in crops and sails management with Call earning a red ribbon in individual judging. Krueger McMillen Haupt took 2nd in crops judging and identification with Haupt earning a white ribbon individually. Krueger and Paul Brauer served as delegates.

One Arrest After 3 Car Accident Saturday Night
Nebraska Highway Safety Patrol reports one arrest after a three car collision at 8 p m Saturday on Highway 30 two point two miles west of Sunol. Charles Mc Cormick Lewellen was taken to Cheyenne County Court Monday on charges of improper passing and leaving the scene. He paid 35 dollars plus costs. A 1947 Oldsmobile driven by Leo Savage of Chappell westbound and a 1950 Buick driven by Freeman Campbell eastbound were involved. McCormick attempting to pass sideswiped both vehicles. Damages totaled about 125 to the Savage car 5 to Campbell and 150 to the McCormick car. No injuries.
