Cheyenne county farmers have until May 1 to enter the 1936 Nebraska pasture contest. County Agent J. C. Swinbank said the deadline was extended from April 1 due to weather and new farm program developments. Nemaha leads. Fred Seifer reports over 25 Auburn farmers entered. Pioneer Greenwood Lady Died Recently
Mrs. Jack Welsh, 75, a former western Nebraska resident, died April 4 at Guernsey. She had lived on a ranch north of Sunrise, Wyoming, for 30 years after coming to western Nebraska in 1878 and settling at Greenwood ranch near Bridgeport with uncle Lige Tusslere. The Greenwood ranch was once one of the west’s largest.

Council Buys Water Truck From Babcock

Beginning this month electric bills covering service from March meter reading to April meter reading will be rendered shortly after the meter is read. The new method enables the company to render the bill within a few days after the meter is read, rather than on the first of the succeeding month as customary. It is in use by many companies and has proved satisfactory to both customer and company.
Scout Highways For Big Springs Bandits
City and county officials patrolled the Lincoln highway Tuesday night after two stick ups robbed a filling station in Big Springs of $35. Sheriff Schulz said the duo fled toward the west but turned off No 30 before reaching Sidney. meagre descriptions were received.
