The Sidney Youth Council with Cheyenne County Centennial committee and Sidney Chamber of Commerce proposes a countywide Fourth of July celebration featuring a nine hole golf tournament pie eating greased pig chase penny carnival a teenage street dance and more. Minor Injury In Monday Accident
A three year old girl, Melissa Wells, sustained minor injuries in a pedestrian collision with a car driven by 17 year old John D. Lindell of Sidney. The incident occurred Monday at about 3 57 PM near 2652 El Rancho Road. The girl was treated and released by a Sidney physician and was in good condition apart from bumps and bruises.

James Coulter Dies After Long Illness at 51
James M. Coulter 51, of Potter and member of the Potter Lions Club and Masonic Lodge 313, died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital in Sidney after years of failing health. Services at Potter Methodist Church Friday at 10 30 a m with burial in Potter Cemetery. Born July 30 1915 in Rockville Nebraska he married Shirley Mayer in 1937. Survivors include his wife two sons Robert and James a daughter in Tokyo Japan two sisters and one brother. Memorial cancer fund designated. arrangements by Craig Holechek Funeral Home.

Sidney city council, at a Monday night meeting, instructed City Attorney L M Clinton to draft a new ordinance aligning closing hours with state guidelines. The measure would allow liquor sales until 1 am Monday through Saturday with consumption by 1 30 am, and Sunday beer only with a 12 midnight close plus a half hour to consume. Mayor J L Thorpe is authorized to handle Sioux Army Depot property matters during the phase out per GSA guidance. The session also approved three building permits totaling 1100 dollars.
