The home of Mr and Mrs Bob Nightengale at 1305 Country Club Drive suffered serious fire damage this afternoon. Sidney firemen arrived shortly before 3 PM and reported the blaze began in the basement with heavy smoke.

Weather Cuts Registration for District Music Contest
Bad weather at Sidney yesterday disrupted the first day of the district music contest with several schools missing sessions. By afternoon only Lewellen and Brule were unrepresented, and Chadon Prep and Chadron Assumption cancelled due to hazardous roads. About 2,450 students had registered for the two days, with 2,600 expected under favorable conditions. Judges included Dr William Gower and Dale Dykins among others. A E Nimtz of Sidney directed.
