The Big Springs natural gas field in Devel County is reopening after years of production since the Denver-Julesburg Basin discovery. J. B. Studdard Estate secured a drilling permit for No. 1 Ralph Zimmerman NWNE Sec. 25-13-43 with Exeter Drilling Co. as contractor. The D sand gas producer has drawn many from various firms seeking an older reservoir, but only gas has been produced to date.

March Accidents Down for Nebraska Patrol
In March the Nebraska Highway Safety Patrol logged 17 investigated accidents in the Kimball-Cheyenne-Deuel area, below the 27 from a year earlier. Area Missile Complex Now US Becomes Largest Wing
