Kensington groups host varied club gatherings in church
A long Thursday program at the Methodist Kensingtons featured devotionals led by Mrs. Glen Bates, a games program by Mrs. E M Gates and Mrs. Francis Knox, and a junior division lunch. Dorcas Society planned a bake sale and parsonage redecorating, plus an old fashioned hat parade and reading from The Country Preacher. Additional club events included Thimble Club, Re Deal, Busy Dozen, Les Huit Filles, and various socials with bridge, roller skating, scavenger hunts, and tasteful meals. Gatherings announced for April 19, institute in Potter, Pinochle club, and St Pauls Aid Society events.

Relief costs soar to new Nebraska state relief high
State and local relief outlays in Nebraska reached a February total of 2,773,525, topping March 1938’s record. Nearly 106,722 people received relief as agencies distributed more money than in January, with old age assistance averaging 18.92 and county grants ranging from 14.44 in Thomas to 27.53 in Arthur.
