Village election Tuesday passed quietly with an unusually light vote. North and south side candidates drew the majority, electing W. F. Bassett from the south and R. E. L. Jackson from the north. The new board includes J. J. McIntosh, E. W. Ziebert, Swan Dedrick, W. F. Bassett and S. E. L. Jackson.
Mr and Mrs J T McIntosh spent Sunday in Sterling Colorado as guests of J J Kinney and family formerly of Kimball. They praised Sterling noting the new court house nearly completed a splendid brick structure with tile floors galleries and balconies and modern devices for county business. The building is estimated to cost 90000. The McIntoshs returned Monday morning.
Invitations from friends announced the marriage of Mary Florence Sanders youngest daughter of M J Sanders and wife of Robert E McLeester of Omaha. The ceremony occurred April 5 at Sacred Heart church in Norfolk. Mrs Ernest Worden, a sister of the bride, attended the wedding. the couple will reside in Omaha.
Ayle-Millard of Tudeacter Pennsylvania wed Kathryn Millard on Tuesday April 8 at Bridgeport with Rev J B Barke officiating. The couple will reside in Sidney. The bride is the daughter of A Millard, praised for sterling citizenship by local residents.
Mrs F H Cole state president of the women’s club federation was entertained Tuesday night by district vice president Mrs L G Simon who hosted an informal reception for B M S club ladies to meet their president. Wednesday they left for a district meeting at Scotta Bluff with Mrs Simon presiding. Our new spring stock of clothing for men and young gents has arrived. Successor to Dr. Stowitts arrives in Sidney to take over the late doctor’s practice. Dr. Graban has secured the Stowitts office and fixtures and will assume immediate possession. Dr. Graham, a Baltimore Medical College graduate, practiced in Virginia and New York before moving to Calloway and then Sidney. The community welcomes him as a capable and wholesome physician.

Katherine Fez Mahr was born July 3 1848 in Wintersburg Alsace Lorraine Germany. She married Nicolas Mahr July 4 1862 and moved to America in 1894 settling near Sid mney Kansas. After ten years of illness she died April 2 1910 at dawn with husband and ten children surviving. Funeral held at German Lutheran church south of town with Reverend Wagner. interment in nearby cemetery. Surviving children include Jacobs Mahr Fort Morgan and Nick Trienen among others. Telegraph extends sympathy.
A large shipment of telephone poles arrived this week as the town strengthens its line network. The north side expands service with more phones while about eighteen miles of line are being strung along the south divide, linking idney with Peetz, Colorado.
