Burglar Caught After Nighttime Home Invasion
Mrs. John Ickes’ residence was burglarized Tuesday night when a panel was kicked in and the thief ransacked the home while a tenant slept with a neighbor. Sheriff McDaniel captured the burglar the next day, he pled guilty, and was bound over to district court in one thousand dollars bail which was not posted.

Sidney Military Band Reorganized For Season
The Sidney Military Band has been reorganized for the season with officers M. Wright president H. T. Doran manager J. C. Baldwin secretary E. R. Kratz treasurer Prof. T. B. Lynch band director. The band will have twenty members and rehearsals have begun under Prof. Lynch. Regular practice nights are Mondays and Thursdays. Public concerts will be held from the band stand when weather permits.

Sheriff McDaniel returned from a multi state chase to arrest R. M. Lewis or Purcell, a smooth swindler selling Select Pantries and rights, accused of obtaining money under false pretenses. The gang is alleged to have netted over 5 000 in Sidney area and 18 000 at Broken Bow. Lewis was arrested in Parcel Oklahoma after requisition backed by Governor Haskell. he faces a heavy bond and possible Nebraska return to face charges.
