Denver woman pleads guilty in Nebraska counterfeit case
Margaret Ann Garmaker 36 of Denver admitted two charges in a scheme passing counterfeit $100 bills in central Nebraska last December. She pleaded to having $310,000 in fake bills in her car when arrested in Kearney on December 23, 1976 and using a counterfeit bill to buy a stereo in Lexington. The plea dropped other charges and she agreed to testify against Duane F Osborne if he does not take a plea. Osborne faces trial next week. Garmaker could receive probation pending sentencing.

Dalton Names Rod Garwood New Superintendent
Rod Garwood, current principal of Elgin Public Schools, was chosen as the Dalton superintendent succeeding Ken Fossen who resigns to attend the University of Nebraska law school. Garwood taught science at Garden County High School Oshkosh from 1965 to 1972 with a year off for a University of South Dakota NSF grant. He joined the Elgin system in 1972. He is married with three daughters. Fossen, Dalton superintendent for two years, is married and has one daughter.
