Electrician Is Killed At Dix
Marvin Bud Larson 43 village clerk treasurer at Dix was electrocuted Sunday morning while repairing a low tension line. He did not see the entangled high voltage wire and was burned severely. Larson also served as village electrician and school custodian and is survived by a son Guy 14. Funeral plans were pending.

Labor Supply Lags Demand in Sidney Territory Report
The monthly Nebraska State Employment Service report shows labor supply in Banner Cheyenne Deuel and Kimball counties up slightly but still short of demand. Of 56 job seekers 23 are veterans while 213 do not meet job requirements. Demand drops from 195 to 113 due to a major employer's plan change. 423 people sought service in March, 66 were sent to employers and 56 were hired. 18 additional workers moved to Sidney and were hired.

Chester A. Ammerman 51 longtime Lodgepole telephone company manager died of a rare lung infection in Alliance. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Lodgepole Methodist Church with Lodgepole Masons assisting. He was born June 29 1895 in Plymouth Nebr and resided in Lodgepole 21 years. Survived by wife Dorothy and ten children, two brothers, one grandchild, plus other relatives. He was a Methodist and a Goldenrod Masonic Lodge member.

Judge Clark Dies Rites Held in Lexington
Guy E. Clark 74 former Sidney police judge died at Colorado General Hospital Denver after two year illness. A Roch ester Minn native, he lived in Sidney many years, later Idaho Springs deputy sheriff and justice of the peace. Funeral services were held at Lexington with Masonic rites. Survived by son Lester M. Idaho Springs and grandson Lester D. Fort Collins.

Wide Interest In Soil Saving Demonstration At Gurley Farm
More than 300 farmers from six counties attended a stubble mulch demonstration on the Walt Gran ae farm near Gurley last Thursday. The event drew attendees from nearby counties and dry land operators from Kimball Devel Box Butte Morrill and Scottsbluff. Fifteen tillage machines were shown including summer fallow tools from several firms and three owner modified machines. Supervisors of the Cheyenne County Soil Conservation District sponsored the event with machine dealers and farmers. Local media coverage included a KLZ recording and Omaha World Herald presence.

Bold Theft Of Grain Probed
The Home Grain Co elevator at Patton suffered a truck wheat theft last week. Sheriff W W Schulz reported three tracks found on the loading platform after thieves opened the door and filled the track from the spout. Loss estimated at two to three hundred bushels. Also under probe is a yearling calf skin found at a rural schoolhouse near Sioux Ordnance Depot. no confirmed county loss. Other thefts, including motors and household goods, have kept authorities busy as investigations continue.

Brooder House Fire Destroys 400 Chicks Near Sidney
A brooder house six miles south of Sidney was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning, wiping out four hundred baby chicks. The Hand farm suffered the loss, with a rural fire district truck arriving too late to save the structure. No other buildings were damaged.
