Three year old Bonnie Jean Elis, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Elis of the east Dalton neighborhood, lies near death in a Dalton hospital after a fire gutted the Ellis farm cottage. Neighbors acted quickly to rescue the unconscious child from a crib as flames and smoke filled the one story dwelling twelve miles east of Dalton.

Commissioners Push Oil for Highway No 30 in Nebraska
The Lincoln county board of commissioners on Tuesday passed a resolution urging immediate oiling of Highway No 30 from the Kimball county line to Sidney to protect the road from high winds. They say oiling is the most economical way to keep the road in good condition, noting gravel replacement is difficult in windy season. An original death warrant for a Massachusetts witch accused in 1692 was shown by E. M. Bradley of Ponca City Ohio. The faded document bears signatures attributed to Indian King Phillip Cotton Mather William Stoughton John Winthrop Simon Sewall and others. Bradley said the warrant ordered death for an apparently innocent woman said to possess powers of witchcraft. Several signatures are valuable, Bradley added, as he travels west.
