Machinery manager suffers foot injury at company plant

Funeral services for Potter infant held Sunday
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Emmaline infant daughter of Harold and Mrs. Christensen at the grandparents home in Potter. The two year old died Friday March 28 after whooping cough and pneumonia. Interment followed in Potter cemetery under Gehrig and Stone funeral service.

Poison Victims To Be Buried At Peetz Today
The funeral for Russell Crowe aged 8 and Audrey aged 4 will be held in Peetz at 10 this morning with the Methodist pastor officiating. They died from botulism linked to canned asparagus, which also sickened their mother and father. The mother is out of danger, the father improving but not out of danger. Nelson Slayer Under Goes Operation On Leg
Thomas Tompsett who fatally shot Sheriff Nelson and was shot in the leg underwent an operation at Hastings last week. The leg was amputated above the knee to save his life after bullets pierced the limb and shattered bone. He was transported from a local hospital to the state hospital for the insane from which he had escaped. Doctors say the amputation was necessary and he consented to the procedure.

Nebraska Ten Acre Corn Crop Contest Attracts Farmers
Nebraska expected about 400 farmers to enter the ten acre corn yield contest this year. P H Stewart predicted March 2 and rules were distributed to county agents and Smith Hughes instructors. By March 22 over 300 applications had been returned and 225 men entered last year. The record remains 109 bushels per acre by George Eiker of Brule in Keith county. A new feature this year will show moisture and shelling data in a market corn class at the 1931 organized agriculture show.
