Lasarium Experience Draws Sidney High Students to Gates Planetarium
Sidney High School students and Quill and Scroll members visited Gates Planetarium to experience Lasarium, a laser light show with music. Created by Ivan Dryer in 1971, the projection uses a one watt laser to create 180 degree color images set to classical, electronic, jazz and rock music. Since debuting at Griffith Observatory in 1973, Lasarium has appeared in Denver, Toronto, Seattle, St. Louis, New York, and San Francisco, while remaining at the Los Angeles venue. The group reported enthusiastic reactions and a unique seating arrangement that enhances the dome display.
