Rising California traffic attracts many travelers using cheap rail rates. Mrs Grace Chadwell visited Cheyenne briefly and William Veto returned from Denver after several days on business. Fruit trains increase eastward with about three daily runs as new engines and interurban cars pass through Sidney. Trainmasters Pate and Toohey from Burlington were in town along with several new engines for OWA R and Navy Company service. Thirty nine teachers from Sidney area rode the Burlington to Bridgeport for the Teachers Association. John Luttrell left for Crawford to work with Interstate Harvester. Frank Pierson suffered serious injuries in Union Pacific yards while inspecting a fruit train when a switch engine struck him. he sustained two broken ribs and cuts to the head, with internal injuries feared but later reports hopeful.
