Idaho Officials and Political Rhetoric Framed in Noisy Debate
Burton L. French and J. C. Atlshie named for state offices with Morrison Stevens Gibson Scott Bell Coffin Bagley and others listed. The piece rails at Democratic missteps, cites a 19th century dining car origin and mocks party infighting, Bryan and Harmony rhetoric, and calls the democracy’s reform talk rhetoric. It mentions poetry quarrels between Joyce and Wilcox and a satirical view of national policy and corruption.
Bryan Declines Easy Labels in Subtle Public Debate
In a careful remark Mr. Bryan rejects being labeled as liberal or conservative by implication. The comment suggests a deliberate stance avoiding defined political camps while signaling openness to diverse policy views. The remark underscores a strategy to appeal across groups without nominating a side.
Texas Angel for judge candidate praised by Republicans
As a candidate, Texas Angel for judge in this district is a very satisfactory candidate to the Republicans for there is not a weaker man that would have been nominated in the district than he. He has been in every political party that has sprung up, always ready to sacrifice himself for any oil office, on any old ticket. We are informed that he beat our townsman Hon. Guy C. Barnum by saying that he was opposed to the two mile limit law, which is a mistake as Mr. Barnum is an alfalfa raiser and we think it a measly shame to take advantage of him in this manner.

Platform Jugglers
A Statesman letter rebuts a Democratic platform claim that tax levies fell under Democrats. It notes 1895 state valuation about 28 million with 231 thousand levy, and current valuation around 61 million with 245 thousand levy, showing tax rate fell only due to valuation rise. The piece accuses the platform of deception and asserts tariffs may need surgical attention but voters will guide cuts.
