Speeches by F R Gooding and others praised irrigation expansion and regional prospects, with officers elected and a $5 membership fee set, plus plans for a constitution and future meetings. News of Grandma Akins death shocks Shoshone residents though prolonged illness had made the event expected. The community mourns a familiar figure as word spreads through town.
A column laments political ritual of nominating watermasters and related officials. It recalls Captain Bledsoe as a veteran lawyer who served as watermaster on opposing streams, noting his stubborn care with the shovel and a modest tally of laurels while hinting at a retreat into obscurity.
Hailey Idaho April 30 1908 notice that a plat of the survey of fractional township 20 north range 14 east including sections 6 22 27 34 has been received and will be officially filed on June 1 1908. At a special meeting of U S Grant Post No 8 held Tuesday May 12 only one member attended. It was resolved to attend on May 20 to perform duties as required by rules and regulations. The post invites all orders to join in the decoration effort.
