Rest for Weary Sunday Rest bill sparks strong comment
The Ninth Legislature passes a Sunday Rest bill by Johnson of Bingham County. It sets Sunday as a day of public rest, bans most business open on Sunday, permits hotels and restaurants for lodging and meals, and imposes fines and jail terms for violations. The act targets saloons theaters and other amusements, with enforcement by prosecutors and officers and directs fines to the county common school fund.

Poor Reception for Wade and Ward Minstrel Show
A local review condemns Harry Ward's minstrel troupe for a weak Monday performance at the opera house. The reduced group, down to about fifteen performers, offered subpar singing and stale jokes. The failed dog act and unpopular dance follow-up compounded the disappointment, with praise for a lone boy singer and criticism of the managers’ reliance on past reputation.
