Sheep men clash over land allotment at Shoshone meeting
In Shoshone the sheepmen gathered at the opera house to press for allotments in the reserve. Chas Grandjean of Buise oversaw the proceedings for the government as growers with varying holdings sought favorable grazing plots. Only four cattlemen attended, and while most sheepmen appeared orderly some felt they did not receive full range. Full allotment details will be provided in the next issue.

Supreme Court clarifies driving sheep not grazing law
The state law prohibiting grazing within two miles of a settler’s dwelling does not bar driving sheep through the state. In Phillips v Grover from Washington County decided January 7, the court held the statute aims at grazing or herding, not the mere movement of stock between feeding places.
