Editors Outing to See Lost River at Mackay Idaho

Editors of the 8 KE Ida Press Club toured Mackay Idaho visiting the Lost River dam and Empire copper mine. They rode ore trains climbed 2000 feet, enjoyed dinners hosted by local clubs and prominent residents, and praised the town’s hospitality and the Dillingham brothers for arranging the trip.

Influence Worth While in Shoshone Journal Takeover

Richfield Recorder notes Melvin and Son, long publishers of the Gooding Leader, have gained control of the Shoshone Journal and issued their first paper last week. Melvin, a capable writer, aims to make the Journal an influence worthwhile. Also mentions a regular Women of Woodcraft meeting Tuesday at 8:30 and Dietrich drafting a Fourth of July plan for the Journal.

Death at Minidoka County home under suspected poisoned candy

Lena Spears aged nineteen died at her parents home nine miles south of Minidoka near Avequia on Thursday under circumstances suggesting poisoning from candy received through the mail. Deputy Sheriff Chapman and Acting Coroner Hardy investigated the scene. County Attorney Bothwell plans to visit Acequia tonight for a post mortem examination.

Conference Banquet Marked Pocatello Methodist Meeting

Gooding entertained this week j the Pocatello district conference for the Methodist Episcopal Church. A public banquet was held Wednesday night at the Lincoln Inn. Edw. Guinan is in Shoshone today from Wendell.

The Romania Hyde String Quartette delighted a Shoshone audience Friday night with a performance of rare merit under the patronage of the Study Club which earned a neat sum from profits. The artists are young and accomplished musicians who established themselves in Shoshone. Messrs. Sinclair and Smith drove to Magic Reservoir earlier in the week for a brief fishing excursion.
