Idaho Republicans Name Ticket At Boise Convention

The Republican state convention at Boise last Thursday nominated Burton L. French for Congress, John A. Morrison for Governor, J. F. Ailshie for Supreme Court, James M. Stevens for Lt. Governor, Will H. Gibson for Secretary of State, Theo. Turner for State Auditor, H. N. Coffin for State Treasurer, John A. Bagley for Attorney General, Miss Mae L. Scott for Superintendent of Schools, and Robert Bell for Inspector of Mines. The gathering praised the slate as united and pledged vigorous campaigning ahead of the November 4 election.

Lincoln County Educators Meet at Sixth Institute in Shoshone

The Sixth Annual Lincoln county Teachers Institute convened Tuesday morning in Shoshone with Superintendent Leah Burnside and instructors W. C. Thompson and Nellie Perin. Sixteen registrants on day one grew to nineteen teachers from twenty two districts, including Misses Lewis Ada Little Emma Davies Jessie Gwin Olivia Olson Allie Roraback Louise Carmichael Jennie Yaden Rose Mabbutt Martha De Witt Cora Kinsey Delia Hansen Mattie Sloan Nellie Hamilton Betty Kiggins and Messrs Morton Little Wolf Luther.

Returns With Horse Thief Brings Babcock to Helena

Sheriff Jones captured George Babcock in East Helena for stealing a horse from a grading camp near Kimama. Babcock pleaded guilty at a Saturday hearing before Justice Smith, with bond set at 200. trial in district court on September 21, 1902. The note criticizes county officers for not capturing criminals locally. Also covered are the Shoshone Women’s Club meeting and library plans, a NY Republican tax savings, and Navy plans for a floating deck to aid the Philippines.
