Lincoln county Idaho Republicans held a representation filled meeting at Hagerman city hall to elect five delegates for the state convention in Boise on August 20. Pioneer A L Anderson Passes Away at Shoshone Farm
A L Anderson a pioneer of Shoshone and Lincoln county died at his farm near Shoshone Tuesday night after a year and a half illness. He came from Chicago over twenty years ago and owned the first hotel in the city then partnered with Cr Haynes in hotels and ran the Dewey house before homesteading the ranch where he died. He was 58, born in Chicago, and left two sons.

Anderson of Shoshone Dies After Long Residence
George of Evenanston TH and Harry of Shoshone recall the late Mr. Anderson who lived in Shoshone for years. His remains were shipped to Evanston TH Wednesday evening to be buried beside his wife who died about six years ago. The community mourns a good citizen whose efforts helped build Shoshone and Lincoln County. The Journal joins friends in offering sympathy to the bereaved family.

Teachers Institute in Shoshone Attracts Teachers
The sixth annual Institute of Lincoln County will run from Tuesday morning August 19 at 9 o clock to August 27 in Shoshone. Competent instructors have been secured and the event aims to boost educational preparation for the coming year. County Superintendent Sean M Brissier invites teachers, aspiring teachers, high school students and anyone interested in education to attend and participate in two weeks of work to better prepare for duties ahead.

Irrigation Growth in Idaho and National Survey Plans
Idaho irrigation grew from 4 323 irrigators to 8 937 1899 with 602 468 acres irrigated and ditch length near 5 000 miles. Land values averaged 11.15 per acre dry and 31.25 for irrigated.
