Young Man Loses Leg In Train Steal Attempt Near Shoshone
James Gorman, about 20, of Murray Utah, was severely crushed when a moving train on a side track near Waucanza east of Shoshone struck him as he tried to steal a ride. The leg was amputated between knee and ankle at Pocatello by Dre Bean Castle and Howard. He was taken to Mrs. Burbank’s home and is recovering. A brother in law arrived from Murray to arrange care. He had money but was attempting to hitchhike.

Charge of murder claims innocence in Idaho case
W A Durham was arrested at Blackfoot on a warrant charging the June 23 killings of E M Fritz and S B Donaldson on Pocatello creek. He denies guilt, says he knows who did it, and led prosecutors to the murder scene while with Par Farnam. Durham, a Blackfoot blacksmith, is held on the charge as authorities pursue his full account.
