The Idaho Republican convention at Moscow backed Frank R. Gooding for governor by a strong first-ballot majority. Lincoln County lines up for statewide victory, with nominees renominated or confirmed including Burton J. French and Joyce Sullivan.
Washington dispatch reports Blagen & Company failed to file their bond on the Minidoka headwork project. The government forfeited an $8,000 check and awarded the contract to Bates & Rogers of Chicago, whose bid was $425,923, while Blagen’s bid was considered extremely low. It is believed Blagen sacrificed the deposit to avoid losses from an unprofitable contract.
