Five aged men in a fishing party ventured to Cotton Woods last Saturday night and did not return until Monday. They failed to catch any fish but enjoyed a humorous outing. Widow Arthur Smith Dies in Salt Lake City Relocation
An obituary notes Arthur Smith died in Salt Lake City on February 28, 1882. In 1884 she joined her husband in Wood River where he had relocated three years earlier. She left no children and is mourned by her mother Mrs. Kate Wiseman aged 79 or 80, and brothers Frank and Theodore, all residents of Salt Lake, with many friends.

Death of Sheep Herder John Gannon Near Muldoon
A J N Erickson sheep herder named John Gannon, about 70, was found dead in his tent near Muldoon last week. He appeared to have died suddenly while breakfasting, sitting with a coffee pot in hand. His body required the tent be torn down to remove, his dog resisted access. He likely died of heart failure. Erickson delivered about $300 wages to the county coroner.

A New Firm Opens Saloon Next Door in Sho shone
