Frisky Dray Horses Runaway With Coal Load

A team led by C. F. Borden pulled a heavy coal wagon from a railroad depot along Fall Street. The four horses bolted injuring nothing and shedding almost no coal as bystanders and mounted men chased them down and returned them to the starting point without damage.

Probate Judge Rules Inheritance Tax Case

In Liancoln probate court on 4 discussion arose over inheritance tax on the Hertha estate. Judge Fuller held the widow could not be taxed on half, while the court ultimately favored taxing the entire estate though awaiting higher court ruling.
