A 2:30 a m blaze in Shiner Texas gutted the city compress bonded warehouse and about 4000 bales of cotton. Firefighters saved 700 bales on a platform and 12 cars of cotton on a siding. 1200 bales in the bonded warehouse were destroyed. Estimated total loss $750000 with most covered by insurance.
A large group hosted by friends surprised Miss Stella Morgenroth with a bridal shower at her home last Friday. Sixty guests attended from Moulton including Mrs. Jaeggli and Mrs. Roeder as well as Miss Knezek and Miss Farenthold. punch and cake were served, and Carlyne Trautwein toasted the bride.
