St. Ludmila's Academy Opens Fall Term

The opening of the 1935 36 school year at St. Ludmila's Academy drew parents and pupils from near and far. Rt Rev Monsignor Ned tardus celebrated Mass at eight and blessed the children before registration and book distribution. Eastern Star Joint Meeting Held In Weimar

Weimar hosts a joint Eastern Star meeting with Schulenburg Flatonia Shiner and Eagle Lake chapters at the Masonic Hall on Sept 7. Guests include Worthy Grand Matron Mrs Mattie Mitchell and District Deputy Grand Matron Mrs Viva Huffmann. About 75 members and guests attended with refreshments afterward.

Auto Wreck Victim Mr Lucas Rehmet of Moulton

Auto wreck victim Mr Lucas Rehmet of Moulton was found unconscious Sunday afternoon on the highway between Moulton and Sulphur Park. No eye witnesses, condition uncertain whether hit and run or steering trouble. He was rushed to the local hospital with eight broken ribs, a fractured upper jaw, and notable brain injury.

Garden Club Organized Shi ner Garden Club Formed at City Hall

A Garden Club was organized at City Hall on Wednesday September 11 at 3 PM with Mrs Julia Wolters as chairman. The Shi ner Garden Club aims for home beautification civic improvement and flower shows. Twenty members joined. Arno Wagner is president Ella Blohm vice president Viasta Waldrep secretary treasurer. An executive committee includes Mrs Lassie Wolters and Mrs Alma Kempe. Meetings at 8 PM on the third Friday monthly begin September 20. Dues are fifty cents per member annually.

Cat Flowers License Warning Violates State Law

Victoria Texas September 6. Persons selling cat flowers without a license and inspections violate the law and are subject to prosecution. B F Bryant of the State Department of Agriculture issued warning in Victoria today. Florist license cost is three dollars fifty cents.
