Twilight Wedding of Miss Irma Reichardt and Mr. Martin Fiedler

Miss Irma Reichardt and Mr. Martin Fiedler were married at United Lutheran Church on Tuesday evening. The ceremony featured a double ring Lutheran service with white floral decor. Attendants included Miss Evelyn Kroulik and Miss Melinda Fiedler, with Georgie Mae Fiedler as flower girl. The reception followed at the bride’s home with a turkey supper and lavish decorations. The couple, graduates and children of local families, left for a wedding trip to west Texas amid a rice and shoe sendoff.

Rural School Openings Set for September 16

Boundary Line and Kopecky schools will open September 16 with Mrs. Frank L. Schovassa as principal and Miss Earline Berckenhoff as assistant at Boundary. Miss Annie Stuter will be principal of Kopecky. All children are asked to be present. The trustees oversee the arrangements.

Menger and Green Schools Open Next Week in Charlottenburg

Charlottenburg Trustees urge full attendance as Menger School opens Monday the 16 with Arthur Ward as principal and Florine Berckenhoff as assistant. Green School also opens Monday September 16 with J. H. Wilson as principal and Mrs Wilson as assistant. On Thursday September 12 patrons are asked to come to the schoolhouse to clean and repair the building and grounds, with men to work all day and women in the afternoon.

Blue Bonnet 42 Club Meets with Refreshments

Mrs Adolf Bednar hosted the Blue Bonnet 42 club on Tuesday at 2 30. Guests included Mrs B Bednar Miss Natalie Fisseler and Lorene Bednar. A lunch of cakes sandwiches salad and jello with drinks followed. First prize went to Mrs Raymond Broz and cut prize to Mrs Otto Fissler. Next meeting is September 17 at 2 30.

Betty Agnes, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Jacob Patek, died last Thursday after a brief illness. Born August 18, she lived 18 days. Funeral services were held Friday at the Catholic church with Rt Rev Msg L P Netardus officiating. The Gazette expresses sympathy to the family.

Lutheran Ladies Aid Meeting and Ice Cream Social

The Lutheran Ladies Aid met at Dr. Martin Luther Church on September 4 at 3 PM with song and prayer. Rev. Schuetze read Hebrews four and outlined next month’s lesson. Guests included Mrs J L Janssen, Mrs Boehing, and Miss Schneider. An entertainment by Maurine Koether and Margaret Dierksen preceded coffee and lunch in Luther Hall. An ice cream social with a kiddies fishing pond is planned for September 20 on the church lawn, with the next meeting set for October 2 at 3 PM.

Opening of Shiner High School 1935 36 Term

Shiner High School opened the 1935 36 term Monday morning before large crowds in the auditorium. Supt. McDonald led the ceremonies with a splendor program including the high school orchestra, an invocation by Rev Schuetze, and songs led by Melba Welhausen. Paul R. Otto delivered the welcome on behalf of the Board of Education, with remarks from Supt. McDonald and brief introductions of faculty and new members.

St Ludmila's P T A held its first meeting of the term on Sept 9 with strong enthusiasm and progress. The group approved a new membership drive and reported a donation of 650 books and school supplies. Members, including on Oct 7, are urged to attend.

Twentieth Century Club Hosts Sept. Meeting

The club met September 5 for a business and social session hosted by Mrs. E. A. Busch. After routine business, guests provided an impromptu program with duets by Mrs. S. A. Thulemeyer and Mrs. Wm.
