Governor Allred Calls Texas Legislature to Special Session
Austin Sept 11 Governor Allred issued a proclamation calling the legislature into a special session Sept 28 to address funding for old age assistance under House Bill 26 and to consider other matters of public importance including possible enrollment in additional Social Security Act benefits such as unemployment insurance. A committee will hold public hearings next Tuesday and Wednesday on unemployment insurance with input from employers lawyers and industrialists.
