Mr. A Pfender born February 28 1846 in Liebenzell Germany died in Tulsa Oklahoma on Wednesday September 14 at 4 30 PM at his daughter Mrs Martha Potts home He was 88 years 6 months 7 days and had lived in Texas before moving to Chicago and later Tulsa Survived by three sons Gus Adolph and Will and by his daughter Mrs Potts The remains were shipped to Chicago for burial The Gazette extends sympathy to the family

Race Against Death Delivers Oxygen To Boy In Time
Ed Herder drove a Ford V8 from Shiner to San Antonio in 95 minutes to rush oxygen to Dennis Treptow. He traveled 217 miles round trip in 3 hours 25 minutes on Saturday night, aided by Laddie Janecek Leonard Valek and later Laddie and E A Busch. The team phoned ahead for instant oxygen delivery and kept the horn on to navigate curves.
