Shiner High School began its 1929 30 session with a morning program including a prayer by Rev Pfenninger a mass chorus singing America and remarks by Supt Leslie. The 8 PM faculty reception featured Mrs S A Thulemeyer and performances by the school orchestra soloist L E Denmark violin James V Michna and Bernice Blohm with punch closing the day.

The Green School P T A held a busy Friday meeting on September 6 with many members present. They ordered equipment including a volleyball net, playground balls and bats, seesaws and a jumping pit, more blackboards and 30 State approved library books for the elementary reading course. The school opens September 16 and the community will gather September 10 to improve the grounds. Prof and Mrs Smothers attended and offered help. The next meeting is the first Friday night in October.

A gala at St. Ludmila's Academy marked two vows, one first, one renewal, and four perpetual commitments. Archbishop Crosserets was replaced by Dean L. P.
