Members of the Parent Teachers Association will meet next Thursday afternoon September 10 at 40 o'clock in the High School building. The president appeals for full attendance to start a successful year. Mrs C B Stratman was reelected president for another year despite protests.
The Extension Plan announces six college courses in Economics and Sociology to be offered in Shiner during the coming winter. Courses begin two at a time on September 29, a Saturday. T. H. Leslie signs the notice.
Notice from O. C. Dock Burkitt warns residents of Precincts 3 and 7 that throwing dead chickens and trash on public roads is illegal and subject to a 25 dollar fine. Stay within the law.
Rev Jos Green will lead services at Baptist Church next Sunday at 11 am and 8 15 pm. Everyone is invited to attend these services.

Mrs. Louis Fink received a sugar and creamer service in nile green for low score. Miss Louis Thulemeyer got a wooden salad set. D Garbade Sr was called to Galveston last week by the serious illness of his son Will of Flatonia who underwent an operation at Galveston.

A Monday night meeting at the Moulton opera house drew over 100 residents to discuss building the Fayette county line road down to Yoakum. The crowd favored prompt construction and named a five member committee F T Fehrenkamp L A Meiners Joseph F Butschek J T Jaeggli and Elo Fehrenkamp to coordinate with Shiner boosters. The panel visited Shiner Tuesday and learned neighbors are also active with plans and estimates to be released soon.
Edwin Otto undertakes a modern six room bungalow on his farm near Shiner with Jans sen Bros. awarded the contract to handle the construction.

Mrs Frank Rubins and her children are visiting San Antonio, sharing time with relatives and exploring local sights during the stay.
A. J. Elster conducted a special teachers examination in Halletts ville on Saturday. The session aimed to aid those who wished to finish building before September 1 under the old certificate law.

The Gonzales County Fair Races and Centennial Celebration invites visitors to its first complimentary fall fair season ticket covering October 6 through 10. The poultry show features about 1000 birds and the poster promotes family activities, a large carnival, exhibits, and big prizes.
The Gonzales County Fair will host a centennial celebration drawing thousands. A New York director will coach a 500 member cast in a mammoth pageant portraying the town's history, marking a milestone in Lexington of Texas.
A daily fleet operates between here and Galveston transporting many bales of cotton by truck with steady shipments ongoing.

The attorney general approved a 150000 bond issue for hard surfacing the Sweet Home Hallettsville to Fayette county road, bonds sent to printer. The Highway Commission supports using local labor where possible and bids will be let after plans by County Engineer Koether are approved, with work start hoped for around November 15.
