Mrs Mary Louise Janecek Hybner of Shiner died November 8 1972 at home after a probable heart attack at age 56. Her funeral was held November 10 at Sts Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with a large service and burial in Shiner Cemetery. Surviving are husband Felix L Hybner three sons Eugene Robert Patrick two daughters Joan Honigschmidt Janet Hybner and several siblings and grandchildren.

Costly deer kills Columbus two in poaching case
Two Houston men were arrested on Interstate 10 east of Columbus for possession of deer out of season. Freddie Chaney pleaded guilty and paid 364 dollars while Bobby Williams owed 109 dollars in fines in Justice of the Peace Richard Schmidt's court. In Pleasanton, two men from Poteet and San Antonio were fined 600 dollars each for having six illegal deer.
