Southern Pacific releases new timetable details

The new Southern Pacific time table effective last Sunday lists Train 49 departing Lockhart at 8 35 A M and arriving Shiner at 11 17 A M. Train 50 departs Yoakum at 1 30 P M and arrives Shiner at 1 55 P M.

General Motors launches country weeklies ad push

Alfred P Sloan Jr president of General Motors announces a new advertising plan in the Gazette. The twofold approach combines all GM brands including Chevrolet Pontiac Oldsmobile Oakland Buick and Cadillac along with Delco Light and Frigidaire. The company will also place ads in country weeklies with a multi thousand dollar trial campaign. Sloan cites the home town paper readership and hopes for an enduring nationwide effort.

Election Notice for Shiner Independent School District Trustees

A notice announces an election on April 2, 1927 at City Hall Shiner Texas to elect four trustees for a two year term replacing Arno Wagener C B Stratman Peter Kuhn and J R Barrow. Polls open 8 AM to 6 PM with F R Mergenthaler appointed presiding officer. Wagener is president and Stratman is secretary of the board.

Night Trains Update for Shiner Rail Schedule

Shiner riders should note Train 51 from Waco arrives at 10 16 P M and Train 52 from Yoakum arrives at 5 14 A M The city advises watching for the Lockhart after train returning from Yoakum about 35 minutes sooner and the early morning train to Waco that runs nearly an hour later.
