A past Gazette note recalls a severe ice and snow event in North Texas. March ended with a six inch snow mantle spreading across counties while rain fell for Shi ner’s total above six inches. Monday night brought sleet and hail as mud conditions persisted across the state.

Special Revival Services At Methodist Church

The Pastor Rev T H Crow of Halletttsville will start a series of revival services at the Methodist Church next Monday at 730 PM Two daily services will be held mornings at 10 and evenings at 730 Rev Ratcliff of Cuero will join by Wednesday and assist for the rest of the week The entire community is urged to attend and welcome is extended to all.

Dr Kopecky Leaves Shiner for Wharton Dentists Transfer to Dr Zappe

Dr Geo Kopecky and wife moved to Wharton where he had been a resident since last summer. Friends regret the departure from Shiner and Kopecky thanks patients, asks continued support for his successor Dr Herbert Zappe who will open dental parlors at the same location on June 15.

Eyes of Love draws crowd in Shiner play night

The Shiner production Eyes of Love directed by Mrs. Ella Lane drew a good audience and netted about 65 dollars. Receipts were split on a percentage basis with the P. T. A. share sizable. The performance, praised as one of the best, featured a male quartet and the High School Orchestra receiving generous applause. The P T. A. and viewers thanked the Shiner community for a high class entertainment.
