Mrs D H Stindt Dies After Illness At Home

Mrs. Fredericka Stindt nee Wichman died at the family home on the morning of the 10th from paralysis. Born April 21 1846 in Germany she was nearly 74. She married D H Stindt 48 years ago and is survived by three children H G Stindt of Shiner two daughters Mrs Aug Kasper of Shiner and Mrs Minna Becker of Oklahoma thirteen grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of St Pauls Lutheran Church. Rev Wolfsdorf conducted the funeral. The Gazette extends sympathy to the bereaved.

At Dallas on March 1 1900s era Bailey addressed a large audience at the coliseum with Woodrow Wilson mentioned as a platform ally. The hall emptied out and thousands packed beyond seating capacity as party leaders and speakers urged pledge to Fort principles and expressed mixed views on federal intrusion into private homes.

JOS KRAM DEAD AT WOODLAND CALIFORNIA

Joe Kram a resident of Woodland California died after a short illness at his home. Funeral held there on March 9. Born in Germany 66 years ago he came to Texas in 1885 living near Weimar and later on a Shiner area farm before moving to California in 1918. Survived by his wife and seven children.

Mrs Kuehne of Austin head of West Texas District League Conference along with district officers visited Shiner Senior Epworth League Sunday afternoon to commend the group for its readiness and impact. Rev W E M Rader of Yoakum Methodist Church also attended. Navy recruiting party arrived in town with four sailors led by Chief Gunner E J Stuart and include C B Clark and R H Mitchell for a short visit.

A university hall was raided by sophomores during the freshmen class ball. Ammonia fumes filled the air as clubs swung, leaving several students overcome and others with cracked heads. The damage to the building is estimated at $1,000.

Force Repairing Property on Lockhart-Yoakam Branch S A P

A force of carpenters under Charles Longorio arrived at Shiner to repair depots and railroad property on the Lockhart Yoakam branch of the San Antonio Aransas Pass system. They will stay until Stockhart is finished, with yards raised and a fuel oil pumping station recently installed at Shiner.
