Yoakum's municipal golf course with new clubhouse will host a 9 hole medal play for members women on Saturday May 6 and an 18 hole medal play for men and boys on Sunday May 7. Social Security Office Visit Set for Shiner March 20
A representative from the Victoria Social Security Office will visit Shiner City Hall at 9 am on Monday March 20 to assist residents with retirement survivor's and disability claims. Edgar Pfeil brought in a Radiosonde device found on the way back from Hallettsville. The colorful parachute and instrument were spotted in the Welhausen meadow near Shiner, close to the Shiner Clippers Baseball park. The mechanism was returned per instructions.

Runaway Boys Picked Up Near Shiner Station
Police Chief Charles Frazer reported detaining two 15 year old boys in Shiner near Schachers Station on Wednesday night March 8 after about 20 minutes of questioning. Vernon E Mooneyham of Green's Bayou and Thomas Leroy Storey of Channelview admitted running away from home. Parents were notified and the boys were held until their father picked them up at 1:55 a.m. Thursday.
