Lavaca County Independent Cattlemen Association will hold a meeting at the First State Bank in Yoakum Monday March 17 1975 at 8 00 p m Delegates to the state convention will be elected All members and anyone interested in the cattle industry are urged to attend.

The Shiner High School Band announces a fundraiser Band Dinner on Sunday March 16 1975 at the American Legion Dining Hall. Menu features barbecued chicken with trimmings served 1130 am to 100 pm. Little League Pitcher Catcher Tryouts Set for March 13
Pitcher and catcher try outs for major and minor leagues will be held Thursday March 13 at 7 p.m. at the Little League diamond. Anyone interested in pitching or catching should attend as there is a need for players. Selection of players will take place Friday March 14.
The Outfitter Opens New Gonzales Location With Open House
The Outfitter opens in downtown Gonzales at 411 A St. George with a Grand Opening at 10 30 am on Saturday March 15. Sheila and Tommy Wright invite the public for free coffee and doughnuts and prize registration during opening week through March 22. The store carries Santone Industries men’s wear and features locally made items from Gonzales Manufacturing Division. Plant manager Jim Williams notes 136 employees produce about 8000 slacks weekly and 200 dozen shirt jackets.

Bennie Riske Rites Held In Moulton
Thelma L Stoeltje Riske of Route 1 Moulton died March 2 1975 at Citizens Memorial Hospital Victoria at 63. Burial was in Witting Lutheran Cemetery Hallettsville with pallbearers Dennis Riske Curtis Riske Victor Riske Jr Raymond Dierksen Adolph Pesek Franklin Stoeltje. She was born July 24 1911 in Witting, married Bennie O Riske February 12 1930 and was a member of Witting Lutheran Church Women of the Church and Witting Cemetery Association. Her survivors include Bennie her husband daughter Janice Teltschik grandson Gary Teltschik brother Herbert Stoeltje sister Ella Stoeltje. Funeral services were March 4 at Zion Lutheran Church Moulton conducted by Rev Julius F Holm with organist Mrs Raymond Dierksen. A prayer service was Monday at Kubena Chapel.

Clipper Club Sign-Up Opens For Shiner Fans
Supporters of the Shiner Clipper baseball team may join the Clipper Club by contacting Manager Robert Fikac Coach Jerry Kres ta Carroll Sembera or Jimmy Cimrhanzel. New member caps cost 10 for men 8 for ladies while renewals without a cap are 7 for men and 5 for ladies. Members get half-price home game admission and access to the season ending barbecue. A game schedule will appear next week.

Funeral services held Tuesday for Geo Nollkamper
George C. Nollkamper of Shiner died March 10 1975 in Huth Memorial Hospital Yoakum at 90. Funeral services were held March 11 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel Shiner with Rev B D Armstrong officiating. Burial followed in Shiner City Cemetery. Pallbearers included Kermit Harbers Gus D Nollkamper E W Pfeil Jr Clarence Kopecky Leroy Nollkamper and George Boennine. Surviving are two sons Herbert Nollkamper and E A Nollkamper, a brother Arnold W Nollkamper, a sister Louise Bonarden, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He outlived Frieda Goesch his wife who died in 1954 and a son Roscoe who died in England during World War II.
