Principals Contracts Extended at Regular School Board Meeting
The board extended contracts for elementary principal Johnnie B. Lewis and secondary principal Wilbert W. Zimmerman for 1975 76 with a 1976 77 option. Officials from Arabia Temple Houston attended as past potentates announced a $9,000 piano gift and a $2,500 library donation, plus May 18 1975 as the mosque opening date. Last Rites For Vaclav Welfl
Vaclav Welfl of Moulton died at Shiner Hospital on March 5 1975 after a two day confinement. He was 81 years 5 months 15 days. Funeral at St Josephs Catholic Church March 7 with Father Robert Schmidt officiating. Interment in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Daniel Jim Henry Kresta Jr Fred Jr Louis James Welff and Michael Siegel. Rosary March 6 at 8 p m at Smith Funeral Home. Born Fayette County Praha September 20 1893 he married Emma Berckenhoff November 19 1914. The couple farmed near Moulton Novohrad Witting later moving to Moulton and then Shady Oak Nursing Home. Survived by Emma Welfl wife, two sons Alfred and August Welfl, two daughters Marietta Siege of Shiner and Agnes Kresta of Moulton, sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers Nick Welff of Yoakum and John Welfl of Moulton, one sister Mary Kubicek of Moulton. Preceded by son Louis Welfl and daughter Sophia Welfs, and several brothers and sisters.

Ed Kutac of Yoakum died March 5 1975 at Huth Memorial Hospital age 90. He was born Sept 3 1884 in Lavaca County and lived in Yoakum most of his life. Perry L Bohmann 53 was found dead Tuesday morning at his north Shiner area home from a gunshot wound to the left chest. A .22 rifle lay nearby and death is estimated to have occurred around March 6 1975. Services were held March 12 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with military rites by Shiner American Legion Post. Surviving are his son Dennis and siblings, with a grandchild.
