Dr Nave Dr Knave, among the first physicians in Shiner, died last Friday in San Antonio after a period of illness. He had left Shiner years ago for Kenedy, later seeking treatment in San Antonio. The interment occurred in Kenedy last Sunday.
We express heartfelt thanks to friends for words of consolation and deeds of kindness during the sickness and death of our wife and mother Mrs Oulie Wick. Gratitude to Rev Father Wolf for comforting words the sisters for their singing pallbearers St Elizabeth and St Josephs Societies and the many floral offerings.
Election officers for Shiner Precincts are listed with ward designations and duties. Shiner East-O. W. Miller, J. H. Huebner, J. H. Elsik, and A. J. Bednay oversee precinct 9. Shiner West-E. Morgenroth, Ed Busch, Thos. Marcak, and M. I. Bozka oversee precinct 10. Mt Olive lists Jos. Hranitzky and Martin Pesek for precinct 11. Sweet Home includes W. H. Moore, W. Wendt, Fr. Slanina, and E. H. Thompson for precinct 12. Worthing lists A. J. Jemison and Aug. Dornak for precinct 13. Charlottenburg has Gust. Nellkamper and Ad. Hoffner for precinct 15. Wied lists A. J. Kallus and E. Pietsch.
The Cemetery Society will meet at Mrs. Max Wolters home on Friday March third at 3 30 P M All members are urged to attend.

The Shiner Civic Club met at Mrs. C. B. Welhaus home on February 23 with nine members present. Officers were reelected: President Mrs. S. A. Thulemeyer, Vice President Mrs. O. H. Deutsch, Treasurer Mrs. C. B. Welfixisen, Secretary Mrs. Alf. Schram. Plans for a children's Costume ball set for April 21 were discussed. next meeting is March 23.
In Sweet Home near Yoakum Texas robbers struck last night for the third time in months. They entered Ebner cash store taking about five dollars left in the register but could not open the safe. Other breaks hit Steffick Grocery Donnelly Meat Market Sweet Home Lumber Co Morris blacksmith shop, with the Morris safe door pried and about thirteen dollars missing. other stores reported no losses.
Honor Roll list for February from Methodist Sunday School. It records classes 1 through 6 with teachers and named students. Bible Class led by T. J. Renton with Mrs Haber macher and others listed.
Monday morning at 8 o'clock at the Catholic Church Rev Father Wolf officiated the marriage of W. B. Turek and Miss Matylda Psencik both of Shiner. After the ceremony they went to the groom's parents' home for dinner and plan to reside in Yoakum where the groom works for Sap Ry Co. The bride formerly assisted at Corner Drug Store. Best wishes for happiness and prosperity.
Immanuel's Lutheran Church announces a first Sunday in Lent schedule. The day features Sunday School in the morning, a German service at 10 o clock on the morning with a German-language sermon, and an English evening service at 7 30 p m focused on the right use of God's name. Pastor H C Bierman invites all to hear the word.
Mrs T M Nowlin is visiting her parents in Waco. The brief social note lists her as visiting during a planned family gathering and references her return plans to her home locale.
