GVEC Members to Observe Thirtieth Annual Meeting

The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative holds its 30th annual meeting Friday June 27 1969 at Apache Football Stadium Gonzales. Registration 6 to 8 p.m. followed by the business meeting and director elections. A prize display includes a 15.6 cu ft frost free refrigerator freezers plus six $25 savings bonds for children.

GVEC Food Fun For Juniors Graduation Held At Shiner High

Graduation for 64 girls from fourth to sixth grade at Shiner High School Gymnasium marked by certificates a Mother’s Favorite Kitchen Helper kit and Willie Wirehand aprons presented by C J Sanfilippo and GVEC advisors. Guests included district officials and local clergy as mothers and siblings attended refreshments afterward.

Funeral Services Held June 18 For Joe Janda

Funeral services for Joe Janda 67 were held at Buffington Funeral Home and Shiner Catholic Church with Requiem Mass. Burial followed in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Janda died June 16 1969 after six days in Wagner Memorial Hospital. He leaves two sons two daughters and several siblings with a long Lavaca Wied lineage.

Rites Held For A L Janszen In San Antonio

Alfred L Janszen age 70 died Sunday June 22 1969 in a San Antonio hospital. Funeral services were held June 24 at Alamo Chapels with burial at Sunset Memorial Park under Victory Masonic Lodge 1160 AF AM. He was born May 28 1899 in Moulton Texas and lived in San Antonio 50 years. He belonged to Alzafar Shrine Victory Masonic Lodge 1160 Odd Fellows Harmonia Lodge Hermann Sons First Baptist Church and Men's Bible Class. Surviving wife Pearl Janszen sister Leona Behlen and brothers Otto Janszen.
