Elroy Othold a 1969 St Paul High School graduate, accepts a four year athletic grant in aid from the University of Houston including tuition books and board with work study. Announced by Carroll Schultz assistant to the Athletic Director, the deal favors UH over a Mets offer. Othold will major in physical education, pursue pitching with the UH Cougars, and train at UH facilities aiming for a pro baseball career. He signed on June 23 1969 in front of his parents and Mr Schultz.
