Old Age Assistance Plan Delays Investigations in Texas

W A Little, director of the Texas Old Age Assistance Commission, said no investigations would be conducted under the new law until the Attorney General's Department issues an opinion to guide policy and procedures. Even then, instructions must be perfected, likely taking a week to ten days after action. Registrations reach about 30,000 statewide, and several months may be needed to process investigations and certify recipients for monthly pro rata funds. A new plan will be submitted to the Social Security Board in Washington for their final decision on disapproval of the clue or a sweep.
