Lutheran Ladies Aid Meets in Observance of Flag Day
The Lutheran Ladies Aid held a regular session in the Lutheran Social Hall on June 7 at 2:30 pm with President Mrs Homer Sommerlatte leading. Devotions explained the Christian and United States flags as visitors attended and committees reported. Next meeting is July 5 at 2:30 pm with a social hour following.

Local Boys State Delegate In Austin
In Austin 750 Texas high school boys enrolled in the 27th American Legion Boys State at the University of Texas. Howard William Gloor of Shiner sponsored by Kolar Stanek Post 201 registered, with participants assigned to Long horn or Pioneer parties and to attend party conventions. A Capitol visit and Governor’s Ball highlight Friday events as enrollment reaches 12,656 since 1940.
