Mrs. Culak Rites In Houston After Fatal Alabama Crash

Mrs Edna Hirsch Culak of Houston died in a two vehicle crash near Montgomery Alabama on June 8 1967. Her husband Charlie Culak and two daughters Kathleen and Candyce survived with injuries. relatives traveled home by air after funeral services in Houston. The obituary notes survivors and that she was born in Moulton.

Texas Legislature approves amendments for voters in 1968 fall

Six constitutional amendments approved for voter consideration include allowing counties to pay medical bills for injured officers, creating a parks bond fund, reviving the Veterans Land Program with up to 400 million dollars in bonds, and permitting county general funds. Additional amendments authorize revenue bonds for industry, retirement system changes, tax exemptions for pollution controls, and other governance and fiscal measures across Texas counties and cities.

Kaspars Return From Rotary Convention In Nice France

Rotary District 587 Governor Arthur Kaspar and Mrs Kaspar returned from the Rotary International Convention in Nice where President Richard Evans urged a theme A Better World Through Rotary. The Kaspars also toured Ireland Scotland Wales and England before Nice and the Bavarian Austrian and Swiss Alps after. Newly elected officers will take office July 1. Kaspar attended District Assembly in Killeen June 21 as the last governor function.

Mrs. J. P. Reiley Gladys Wyatt Reiley mother of Mrs. Harry Harper of Shiner died June 11 1967 at Shannon Memorial Hospital San Angelo after a brief illness. Services were held June 13 at First Methodist Church Sonora burial in Sonora Cemetery Ratliff Kerbow Funeral Home directed. She was born May 24 1896 in Sutton County lived in Sonora all her life and was 71 years 19 days old. Survivors include four daughters six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
