Military Rites Planned for Sgt Sitka at St Marys
The body of Sgt Robert L Sitka of Wied Hallettsville will be brought Thursday morning for Rosary at 8 30 p m and a High Mass funeral at 9 00 a m Friday at St Marys Catholic Church with full military rites at the graveside. Death Claims Joseph Tomek in Shiner Community
Joseph J. Tomek aged 77 years 7 months died Thursday June 3 at 2 15 p m after a year long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 9 am from the family home near Mount Olive with Requiem Mass at 9 30 at Shiner Catholic Church. He was born in Czechoslovakia in November 1870 and emigrated to America at age 20. Survived by wife nine children 31 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Burial in Catholic Cemetery with grandsons as pallbearers. He was the last of his immediate family and left a rich heritage of Catholic faith.
