Texas Republicans at a San Antonio convention adopt a resolution urging sane enforcement of the eighteenth amendment. They call for Congress and state lawmakers to define intoxicating liquors to permit light wines and beers sold outside saloons. A minority report was defeated by a heavy vote.
Reports from Dallas show faction leaders warning that the San Francisco convention and the national Democrats will not fully back Wilson's peace treaty and the league covenant without reservations. A. B. Watkins urged acceptance of changes, while some readers lament the alliance’s stance.
