Tours every 10 minutes show clay art and kiln operation while First National Bank outlines a $100000 remodeling plan including new teller windows and drive up, with safe deposit box vault remaining intact.

Beef Cattle Short Course Planned in Hallettsville

Beef producers and interested individuals may attend a beef cattle short course at Hallettsville Court House starting July 15 and continuing each Thursday night through August 5. July 15 features Dr. C. M. Patterson and entomologist Weldon Newton discussing parasites diseases prevention.

Funeral services for Mrs. William F. Dziewas of Victoria were held at Trinity Lutheran Church on July 8 1965 with Rev J M Schedler officiating. Burial followed at Shiner City Cemetery. McCabe Carruth Funeral Home coordinated arrangements with pallbearers from Shiner New Braunfels Victoria and honorary pallbearers named.

Port Arthur Pioneer John H. Stanley Dies at 80

John H. Stanley aged 80 longtime Texaco foreman and Port Arthur veteran died June 29 1965 at Bohne Memorial hospital Brenham He had moved to Burton after retirement in 195? from Texaco and lived to celebrate his 80th birthday March 13 Survivors include wife Georgia Stanley son John Hillman Stanley four daughters 17 grandchildren and five sisters and brothers Funeral services were held July 2 at Foehner Funeral Home Burton then First Christian Church with burial in Bethany Cemetery.

Head Start Flag Raised in Shiner Ceremony

Forty nine children and twelve adults visited the Post Office to witness the official Head Start flag presentation to Shiner city officials. The event included the Pledge of Allegiance as cameras rolled and was attended by Scoutmaster Steve Kubicek, Postmaster Arthur T. Ward, and school board members.
