W A and P A Wendtland spent the week end in Segovia. Rosa Jean Birkman of Austin visits Louise Thulemeyer. Mr and Mrs E J Tomasco, visiting in Gonzales, have returned home. Mr and Mrs W T Krueger and family and Mrs J W Reed of Houston visited the Misses Krueger last week. Edwin Huebner is home from Houston. More visitors include Mr and Mrs W R Perry and children who will locate in Shiner for the cotton season. Paul Kaspar of Burkburnett will occupy Effender residence. Mr Perry will after attending the Lutheran be employed at the Shiner League at Giddings Compress and Warehouse Go.

XX Century Club Hosts Joyous July Meeting
The XX Century Club met Thursday July 6 at Mrs S A Thulemeyers. A brief business session was followed by refreshments then a club song and a secret-request performance by Mrs Joe Hughes. A grocery contest, a violin solo by Stella Wolters with Mrs Wendtland at piano, readings by Hiyera Herder, and a clothespin contest ended with a three-piece finale. Guests included Mesdames Green Plageman Lane Kerle Kerrville and several Misses, with hostess’s daughter Louise among attendees. On July 20 Mrs C C Amsler will host.

Ondrusek Vavrusa Nuptials Reported In Skidmore
Mr and Mrs Jno J Ondrusek Jr returned from Skidmore Saturday where they attended the Zarsky Vavrusa wedding on June 21. The bride is Mrs Ondrusek's sister. They were joined by Mrs Ondrusek's father Frank Vavrisa who will visit relatives for a few weeks.

A large and appreciative crowd gathered on the lawn at the home of Mr and Mrs FE Rund Herden for an ec cert last Monday night. The outdoor venue offered ample seating, good lighting, and a cooling breeze. The program was strictly classical, highlighting rare artistry that many towns may not match.
