Funeral Services Held In Shiner For Julius Horky
Funeral services for Julius Horky of Rt. 2 Yoakum were held at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner and Shiner Catholic Church with Revered Charles Carolan presiding. Burial was in Shiner Catholic Cemetery with pallbearers Julius E Vrana Tom Hajek John Jirkovsky Henry Jahn Charles Baros Steve Michalec Jr. He died June 20 1967 in Wagner Memorial Hospital at age 84 years seven months five days. He was born November 15 1882 in Texas to John and Katerina Blazi Horky. He married Anna Opera and they farmed for a livelihood. Surviving are his wife a brother Frank Horky of Wichita Falls and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a member of the Catholic Church and St Isidore Society.

Cuero Wins Federal Grant for 149 Acre Municipal Park
Cuero will receive a $107 050 federal grant matched locally to develop a 149 acre municipal park. The Land and Water Fund Project includes shelters, picnic areas, docks, tennis courts, restrooms, roads and parking with a pavilion. The program is a 60 40 split with the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation administering the funds.

Mrs Rosa Kolar Buried In Moulton
Mrs John Kolar nee Rosa Zidek of Moulton dies at 74 in Wagner Memorial Hospital. She lived at Modern Nursing Home Flatonia for four years after a long hospital history since the 1930s. Born March 24 1893 she was married to the late John Kolar. Funeral services were held at Buffington Chapel Shiner and St Josephs Church Moulton with burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include nephews from Shiner and Moulton. Survivors include a sister Mrs Willie Hosek of Poth and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family notes several Zidek relatives and prior generations.

Federal Aid Of 59.8 Million For Texas Highways
Representative Kazan announced that the Federal Highway Administration released 59.8 million dollars in federal highway aid for Texas effective July 1 1967. The funds include 57.2 million for the regular first quarter 1968 apportionment and 2.6 million in unobligated balances from June 30 1966 deferred since November last year to curb inflation. This Texas allotment is part of 1.6 billion dollars nationwide.
